The Ministry of Natural Resources and Grey County OPP continue their marine patrols today as part of the Salmon Spectacular.
Officers have already handed out a number of charges — ranging from too many fishing lines to improper lighting to open liquor to operating a boat while impaired.
Some boaters have been charged for not having a vessel operators card.
The OPP and MNR also joined forces to pull a 29 year old Hamilton man out of Georgian Bay on Saturday.
The man was staying at a cottage when his friends reported he had not returned after leaving on his personal watercraft at Noon.
A helicopter from CFB Trenton spotted the man around 5:30 PM floating in the water.
The OPP pulled him to shore after he said a large wave knocked him off his ride.
He was treated at the Owen Sound hospital and Police credit a lifejacket with saving the man’s life.
