The first ever Bayshore Race is being hailed a success.
Over 400 runners and walkers took part in the event on Sunday and raised about 22 thousand dollars for the Owen Sound Regional Hospital.
The money will be used to purchase new ECG machines.
Paul Weitendorf — the Executive Director of the Hospital Foundation — says the machines are critical in diagnosing heart problems.
Over 12 thousand tests are completed at the Owen Sound hospital each year.
153 runners finished the 10 kilometre race, while 117 competed in the half marathon and 62 people took part in a 5 kilometre fun walk.
