A heat advisory has been issued for residents in Grey Bruce and the City of Owen Sound has opened cooling centres.
The public health unit is advising you to take care against heat and pollution related illness due to the smog and humidex advisories and hot weather.
Officials say the current heat, humidity and smog conditions heighten the risk of heat related illnesses — including heat stress, heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
Smog episodes create eye irritation, respiratory symptoms such as coughing and shortness of breath and worsening of heart or lung conditions.
If you are experiencing physical distress because of the heat — you should seek medical attention.
There are cooling centres in Owen Sound at the public library, the Bayshore Community Centre and City Hall.
Water will be available at all three locations.

Other tips to keep cool include dressing lightly, drinking plenty of fluids — especially water — and limit outdoor activity.
