“Jake’s Day” was a huge success at Martell’s Mini Melts at Sauble Beach.
The owners — Jerry and Ann Martell — donated some proceeds from their ice cream sales last Saturday to 7 year old Jake Schafer of Durham.
Schafer is fighting stage 4 cancer and his family is facing huge bills for travel expenses and medication.
The Martell’s tell us people also made cash donations — and they are sending a cheque for over 17 hundred dollars to Jake’s family.
The Martell’s say they are blown away by the support for the fundraiser and they thank all of their customers.
More fundraisers are being planned for the Schafer family.
