The six year old boy who was pulled from Georgian Bay at North Winds Beach near Craigleith has now died.
The family confirms with Bayshore Broadcasting News that Jonathon Reddy of Barrie, died at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto Friday.
He never did regain consciousness after he was rescued from the water on Thursday with his sister after they were overcome by large waves.
Their mother Jan, who is a nurse, was able to save her daughter — and tried valiantly to save her son.
The family will now donate Jonathon’s organs.
It has been a deadly year in Ontario’s waterways, with dozens of drownings so far this summer.
