The resurgence of rock and roll with the guitar hero video game is sure to draw a crowd at the first ever Classic Legends Rockfest in Hanover.
The event is a fundraiser for Hanover Minor Hockey with partnerships involving Big Brothers and Big Sisters, the Hanover Kinsmen and Walkerton old times hockey group.
The concerts started Friday night and continues today at 5 PM.
Organizer Dave Schefler says the event is being held at the Saugeen Municipal Airport – and at first was a concern with residents of the noise.
But he assures us the event falls within municipal noise by-laws and is not in a residential area.
Schefler says the band chosen are some of the premiere impressionist bands of North America — featuring groups like U2, Aerosmith and Led Zepplin.
He adds these are full blown shows with lights and music.
Schefler is expecting between three to five thousand people to attend.
He says it’s a family event and children under 13 are admitted free and the site can accommodate 10-thousand.
