Another warning from Police about the so-called “grandparent scam.”
The OPP say fraud artists continue to make calls to residents in Grey Bruce — posing as a family member and saying they urgently need money.
The latest request was reported on Tuesday when a Meaford woman received a call from someone claiming to be her brother who was in a crash in Toronto — and they needed 52 hundred dollars.
Police warn the fraudsters usually paint a grim picture about a crash, hospitalization or even imprisonment so that money can be transferred to them.
