The province wants Brockton to take a closer look at the septic systems along Lake Rosalind and Marl Lake.
Faulty septic tanks could be one of the main contributing factors for the blue green algae problem.
Under the advice of the province, Brockton is going to again conduct a septic re-inspection program on Lake Rosalind and Marl Lake.
The Ministry of Environment has detected sewage in the water.
They will be tracking the sewage hot spots with GPS so Brockton can visit the neighbouring homes and conduct dye tests.
Dyes will be flushed down the toilet and if the dye makes it out to the lake it will clearly indicate which septic systems are not functioning properly.
Mayor Charlie Bagnato is eager to get started.
With 270 homes on the two small lakes, Bagnato says it’s important to ensure all of the septic systems are working properly.
The septic re-inspection program will get underway soon.
A Do Not Use Water Advisory remains in effect for residents at both Lake Rosalind and Marl Lake because of a blue green algae problem.
It is the second such advisory of the summer.
