Larry Kraemer is hoping to be re-elected as Kincardine’s mayor.
He filed his papers and made the announcement Friday at the Governor’s Inn in Kincardine.
Kraemer told the audience his campaign theme this time around is Proven Dedication to Community.
He says he’s still committed to seeing the community expand and prosper.
Kraemer says it’s going to be a tough term financially, and he believes council will need to carefully watch the bottom line and optimize the use of the committee structure.
There are a few other projects he’d like to see through to the end, including the Deep Geological Repository at Bruce Power, and the completion of bringing university and college courses to the new Lake Huron Learning Collaborative site in Kincardine.
Another issue Kraemer would like to focus more effort on is doctor recruitment.
He says they’ve pretty much evened out, but there are a lot of doctors who will be retiring in upcoming years.
It will be a three-way race for mayor in the October election.
Deputy Mayor Laura Haight is also seeking the top spot, along with resident Ron Stephens.
