Hanovers gymnastics program is receiving a big boost.
A 33 thousand dollar Trillium Grant will allow the program to move out of the
JDSS high school and into the Hanover Family Centre.
Recreation Director Sherri Walden says the money will be used to purchase
core equipment for the gymnastics program.
Hanovers gymnastics program was launched last Fall and was very successful
in its inaugural year.
Almost 300 youth participated in the three 10 week sessions.
By moving the program to town facilities, Recreation Manager Sherri Walden
expects this years program to be even more successful.
She says the program will be expanded to meet the demand and offer more
flexible hours.
In order to stretch the 33 thousand dollar grant as far as it can go, Hanover
will be purchasing used core gymnastics equipment.
Walden adds Hanover is fortunate to have a team of dedicated instructors and
volunteers to offer quality programming.
