Two missing canoeists on Georgian Bay have been found, but one has since died in hospital.
Bruce Peninsula OPP say a 63 year old woman from Toronto and her 10 year old Grand-Nephew from Bosnia, left Dyers Bay in a canoe around Noon Tuesday and never returned.
Her husband called the OPP around 4:30 PM and a massive search started involving several aircraft and boats.
Trenton Rescue Co-ordinator Dave Elit says they searched the area all night.
Their overturned canoe was discovered around 4 AM Wednesday and six hours later, the two were found floating in the water near a reef.
Constable Dave Meyer tells Bayshore Broadcasting News although both were found alive, the 10 year old boy died at Lion’s Head hospital around Noon today.
The 63 year old woman was airlifted from Lion’s Head to the Owen Sound hospital suffering from Hypothermia.
The OPP say the two were wearing life jackets.
