Saugeen Shores Council has approved a program for residents wanting to plant trees for the purpose of dedication.
The Dedicated Tree Program offers mature trees for planting in public areas.
Along with the tree, you get a plaque for your dedication inscription.
Altogether, the tree and the plaque cost you about 750 dollars.
Saugeen Shores Councillor Victoria Serda says the cost is certainly justified as the trees available for purchase will be fully grown.
She adds there will some labour involved with the actual planting and maintenance of the tree.
The Dedicated Tree Program is specifically for public property.
Serda says a maple tree program for private property will be introduced in the fall.
