The Kincardine Relay for Life event has a lofty goal this year.
Relay chair Pat Holder says they’re hoping to raise 95 thousand dollars today and tomorrow at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine.
Holder notes for the past four years, a total of 405 thousand dollars has been raised for cancer research and patient services.
She says she’d like to see that number rounded off to half a million dollars during the 5th annual event.
Holder says this year, they’ve added some new entertainment along with games for the participants.
There will also be educational displays set up for everyone who takes part or visits the event.
The Relay for Life runs from 7 PM Friday to 7 AM Saturday.
One of the highlights will be the traditional luminary ceremony at dusk.
Holder says at least 28 teams will be on hand for the event but she invites everyone to drop in and take part.
