Preparation continues for a new sporting and recreational event set for Owen Sound in late August
The Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation is conducting the first ever Bayshore Race on Sunday August 29th.
More than 200 runners and walkers have already registered for the event which has various levels of participation and will be a fundraiser for the Foundation.
Executive Director Paul Weitendorf says the event has a 5k Walk for Fun, a 10K Road Race plus a half marathon for participants to choose from.
Weitendorf is very enthused about the support the event has garnered both in terms of sponsorship and participation.
The goal for the event is to have 300 participants.
In terms of raising funds from the activity, Weitendorf says there is no target goal, stating he wants the first event to be a success and build on this year’s event for future years
