The woman in Afghanistan coming to the forefront in Southampton.
The Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre is hosting an Afghanistan Film Festival and mini market today and tomorrow.
Programming Coordinator Nancy White says this event will feature two films about women in Afghanistan.
White says the two films will educate and open our eyes to the issues facing women in the country.
The evnt was spurred on by Joan Evans of Southampton who is raising money for the Canadian Women for women in Afghanistan.
A portion of the proceeds will go to the cause.
Then there will be a light dinner followed by a very interesting mini market featuring belly dancing sessions, craftworks made in Afghanistan and henna hand painting.
The festival runs at the museum starting both days at 3 PM in the afternoon.
