No federal election has been called — but the Liberals are touring the province as if there is an election campaign.
Opposition Health Critic Doctor Carolyn Bennett is visiting the region today to talk about health care and rural food sources.
Bennett — the MP for the Toronto riding of St. Paul’s — has been working closely with local federal Liberal candidate Kimberley Love.
They will visit Dundalk, Markdale, Desboro and Owen Sound today.
In Dundalk — the pair will meet Southgate Mayor Don Lewis to discuss how to fill the doctor void in the Township at 12:30 PM.
They will also stop at the site of the proposed new Centre Grey Hospital in Markdale at 1:45 PM.
Local farmer Shawn McGivern — the Regional Co-ordinator for the National Farmers Union — will meet with the Liberals in Desboro to talk about a national food policy at 3:15 PM.
And in Owen Sound at 4:30 PM — Bennett and Love will take part in a pasta fundraiser at the farmer’s market to support the Owen Sound Market Build Project.
