A Walkerton area man has returned home for a short visit as he journeys across Canada.
Brother Paul — or as locals remember him Chris Weber — is on a mission.
The Sacred Heart High School graduate and six other young people are making the trek across Canada to raise awareness on life issues.
Weber says they are walking to promote life, speaking up for the unborn and out against euthanasia.
Weber and his group began their journey on the May 2-4 weekend in British Columbia and will be traveling as far as the Maritimes.
Because the group is made up of students — they won’t be able to make it all the way to Newfoundland before school begins but they hope to finish the journey next year.
The team cover at least 100 kilometres a day breaking the walking up in shifts day and night.
Before leaving the area, Weber and his group will be walking from Hanover to Walkerton today at 10 AM.
Weber says the walk is open to anyone and many local residents will join them.
Hanover resident Theresa Weiler wishes them well — she became the first person to ever walk across Canada for the pro life movement in 1993.
