A 32 year old Kincardine Township woman has been charged in connection with discrepancies regarding the Port Elgin Pumpkinfest bank account.
In a news release issued Wednesday — Saugeen Shores Police chief Dan Rivett says Lisa Irwin was arrested and charged last Friday.
Rivett says the former Pumpkinfest co-ordinator is accused of doctoring financial statements that allowed the suspect to channel money into a personal account.
Irwin will appear in Walkerton court on September 27th to answer to 25 charges including forgery, uttering a forged document, and theft over five thousand dollars.
The thefts total approximately 67 thousand dollars over a two year period.
Irwin is no longer employed by the Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce.
The Chamber has also put in the checks and balances to make sure the same problem doesn’t happen in the future.
