It’s going to be all about music at the Southampton Summer Music camp.
Co-Camp Director Ridley Gillmore says the camp begins Monday and will run for five days.
The idea of the camp is to primarily introduce children to musical instruments or the hone the skills they already have.
Gillmore says the classes are at the Southampton United Church.
One of the highlights of the week are the lunch hour concerts at the bandshell at Fairy Lake.
There will also be some evening concerts on Tuesday and Thursday.
The big day is Friday, July 30th when at 1 PM, there will be performances by all the summer music groups.
Gillmore says they focus on the instruments of a concert band, such as flute, horns and percussion.
He says they do not deal in stringed instruments, leaving that to a similar music camp held in Kincardine.
The summer music camp in Southampton has been operating since 1986.
