Got Junk? Saturday is a good day to get rid of it.
An extra Goods Exchange Day being held in Owen Sound so residents can recycle unwanted goods they may have cluttering up their homes.
Saturday July 24th is Goods Exchange Day in the Scenic City.
Environmental Superintendent Chris Hughes notes the Goods Exchange Day has been around since 1991 and has taken off right across the community.
He says that is why the city decided to offer up another goods exchange day in the middle of the summer.
He says it’s a perfect opportunity for homeowners to rid themselves of stuff they don’t want rather than take to the landfill for disposal.
Hughes says people place unwanted but still usable items at the curb in front of their homes after 8 AM Saturday and tie a white plastic bag around to one of the items to show people they are intended for goods exchange.
He says any item that is not picked up should be removed from the curb before 6 PM.
