A Chinese family is about to get a big dose of Bruce County Hospitality today.
They won a contest to visit Ontario, and their visit is being filmed by the biggest Travel TV channel in China.
Bruce County Tourism Manager Chris Hughes says this a huge opportunity to showcase the county to hundreds of millions of people in China.
He says more than 350 million people watch the Chinese Travel Channel and when the segment on the Bruce Peninsula will be a huge boost for the tourist industry.
In addition Hughes says the editor of the travel section of the Beijing News is covering this tour and will be writing stories about the experience as well.
He says the family and film crew will be in the area for only one day so they will be trying to get them to visit some of the more popular attractions on the Peninsula like the Grotto in the National Park, the shipwrecks near Tobermory and Flower Pot island.
Hughes says the exposure that the Bruce Peninsula will get from this travel show will be enormous, possibly the largest media event yet for the region.
The episodes will be broadcast in China this fall, and re broadcast in the spring of next year before the summer travel season.
