Midwestern Ontario residents who were up in the early hours of Wednesday morning saw lightning flashing across the sky to the north.
But it was a much different story in the Dungannon area.
Environment Canada is checking to see whether there was a tornado or downburst that accompanied high wind and damaging hail just before dawn.
There are reports of felled and damaged trees as well as damaged crops in the area.
