The Sauble Beach Chamber of Commerce isn’t planning on making any changes to its special summer events.
At least one business owner has been critical of the campaign.
Jeff Lobsinger has closed his popular restaurant Lobbie’s because he says the events sell the same food and drink and are stealing his customers.
But Chamber President Bruce Parsons says the majority of business people are in support of “the 24 Weeks of Summer” campaign.
Parsons says they are bringing both local residents and visitors to downtown Sauble with the events.
Parsons feels the Chamber’s role is to promote local business and he feels they are doing that by bringing people downtown where the merchants are located.
Parsons notes all of their events this summer have been very well attended.
Parsons also claims Lobsinger has been critical of the campaign from the start.
Parsons says they will listen to any concerns Sauble Beach merchants may have — but to his knowledge — Lobsinger has not complained to anyone this week.
