The Saugeen Conservation Authority and the town of Hanover have locked horns and are going to court.

The summons involves a building permit.
The town’s Chief Building Official has been charged with allowing a development in a regulated area.
Conservation Authority spokesperson Gary Senior says the land in question is on a flood plain — so it requires a building permit.
The Authority has also charged the building owner and building contractor in the same matter.
Hanover Chief Building Official Don Tedford calls it a matter of interpretation and says it’s now up to the courts to decide who’s interpretation is correct.
The matter goes before the courts on September 7th.
