A potentially tragic incident in the waters off North Shore Park in Port Elgin.
Saugeen Shores police report a boater was noticed in distress on Saturday morning.
The 30 year old Port Elgin man was without a life jacket when his kayak overturned in the lake.
The unidentified man started to swim to shore but ran into difficulties.
A police officer went into the water and pulled the man to shore.
He was treated and released from Saugeen Memorial Hospital in Southampton.
