Thousands of people are expected to pack Kelso Beach Park in Owen Sound for Big Music Fest today.
Gates for the second annual massive outdoor concert will open at 1 PM and the music begins at 2 PM.
It was held at the Wiarton airport last summer before Producer Mark Higgins decided to move the show to Owen Sound.
Faber Drive will open the show at 2 PM, David Wilcox will play at 3:30 PM, Finger Eleven hits the stage at 5 PM, Matthew Good will play at 6:30 PM, Our Lady Peace opens at 8 PM and Hedley will play at 9:30 PM to close the show.
Higgins is expecting over 12 thousand fans at the concert.
Owen Sound is recommending fans take a shuttle bus to Kelso Beach Park since there is no parking allowed on the Eddie Sargeant Parkway.
The shuttles are being hosted by Habitat for Humanity Grey Bruce with proceeds going towards their next build project.
Shuttles are available starting at 11:30 AM at Kelsey’s and Colour Your World in Owen Sound.
The buses will run back and forth until about 2 PM and will then begin picking people up at Kelso Beach when the concert ends around 11 PM.
There are also shuttles from Lion’s Head, Wiarton, Sauble Beach, Port Elgin, Southampton, Hanover, Meaford, Thornbury, Collingwood, and Wasaga Beach.
Spokesperson Blair Jewell says a full list of pick up times, locations, and prices is available on their website at www.habitatgreybruce.com
Jewell says the idea is to eliminate drinking and driving, help with parking challenges, and simply reduce the number of vehicles on the road.
The YMCA will also oversee parking — at Kelso Beach and an additional 900 spaces created near the Visitor Centre on 1st Avenue West.
Parking will cost 10 dollars and the money will go to the YMCA’s Strong Kids program.
There will also be parking at the West Side Boat Launch, the legion and at the Rainbow Boat Club.
