Fire officials are still trying to determine a cause to a fire in downtown Wiarton.
South Bruce Peninsula Fire Chief Dan Robinson tells Bayshore Broadcasting News the blaze destroyed an electronics shop and the living quarters above it.
Damage is estimated at 300 thousand dollars.
There were no injuries.
Robinson says it’s the biggest single call he’s been on in the past year and a half.
He says 30 firefighters from Wiarton and Sauble Beach answered the call.
The blaze broke out shortly after 4:30 PM Monday and firefighters were still on the scene at 11 PM.
Robinson says the burned out structure had to be pulled down for safety reasons.
Robinson credits the professionalism of the firefighters for being able to save buildings on either side of buring building.
He says neighbouring buildings received on minimal damage.
An investigation continues.
