The new Brockton Medical Clinic is about a month behind schedule.
Fundraising Chair Maurice Donnelly says construction between the old and new building took more time to complete than anticipated.
Nevertheless he says things are really beginning to move.
The frame is up, the driveway is poured and it won’t be long until the bricks are mortar begin.
The 3.6 million dollar project is a joint effort between Brockton and the Walkerton Hospital.
The communitys portion is 2 million dollars and the hospital’s is 1.6 million.
The 13 thousand square foot two storey addition will not only include a medical clinic but also two new birthing rooms and additional hospital office space.
Donnelly says fundraising efforts are also going to kick into high gear.
1.75 million dollars has been raised to date — only 247 thousand shy of the two million dollar goal.
The new medical clinic should be ready for occupancy in December.
