A 22 year old man was arrested on the weekend after he tried to steal something from a parked car in the Owen Sound Police parking lot.
A dispatcher was monitoring surveillance cameras early Sunday morning and spotted the suspicious male in the police employee parking lot.
An officer then disturbed the suspect in the middle of his theft — which turned into a police pursuit on foot through the yards of nearby homes.
Police say at one point — the man tripped into a kiddie pool in one backyard before finally being apprehended.
A 22 year old man from the Lions Head area has been charged with trespassing, attempted theft and prowl by night.
Police say alcohol abuse and a lack of common sense were contributing factors.
