More family homes being built in Saugeen Shores.
Chief Building Officer Jim Bell says for this entire year up until the end of May, they’ve issued 122 permits with a construction value of 26 million dollars.
At this time last year, there were 87 permits valued at 9 and a half million.
Bell says the reason for this is the number of residential builds.
He says just in the month of May, they’ve issued 31 permits, 13 of which are for new single-family dwellings.
These permits are worth just over five million. Last year, 30 permits were issued in May, but with a much lower value of one million dollars.
For the year to date, 39 new homes are being built, while only 16 were being built by the end of May 2009.
