Hanover is purchasing a brand new 75 foot fire truck.
The 735 thousand dollar multi purpose vehicle will replace the Fire department’s current piece of similar equipment.
Fire Chief Ken Roseborough calls it a smart investment — noting the new vehicle will offer both versatility and safety.
He says it sets up quickly, has increased seating capacity and even has a few features that can be operated remotely.
The new truck will also assist in keeping insurance rates down for residential, commercial and industrial areas.
Roseborough says it’s going to take a year before the truck arrives.
It’s being ordered from South Dakota and will take a full year before the new vehicle is fully manufactured.
The town’s current 23 year old quint will go up for sale with the funds recieved going directly against the purchase price.
