When post-secondary education arrives in Kincardine, Georgian College will be the apparently be the first provider.
As a matter of fact Georgian College is holding an information session tonight to see how much interest there would be in a Small Business Management course being offered.
The meeting is being held at 6:30 PM at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine.
Earlier this week the Lake Huron Learning Collaborative held its annual general meeting and President and Chair John Smallwood confirmed they will offer a small business course from Georgian College if the interest is there.
Meanwhile, Kincardine Mayor Larry Kramer who is committed to post-secondary learning coming to the town, says in the near future, residents should be able to access courses for small businesses along with general interest courses, such as photography.
Kraemer says council still has to sign and approve the final lease with Lake Huron Learning Collaborative in the former Westario building on Queen Street.
That is expected over the next week or two and then they can move forward from there.
This issue is not without its controversy.
Mayor Kraemer and Deputy Mayor Laura Haight have gone toe-to-toe on the subject.
Haight has suggested that Kraemer has been moving forward on this plan, without keeping council in the loop.
Kraemer counters that he has kept council apprised of every move he’s made along the way.
