Organizers of the Saugeen Shores’ Relay for Life are encouraging the town to go blue and yellow — at least on Mondays.
Staff and students at Saugeen Central School are showing us how it’s done today for the first Blue and Yellow Monday.
Principal Liz MacPherson says they’ll wear blue and yellow to show support for the Relay for Life, and they’ll also hold a fundraiser.
She says a peanut-free candy jar will be raffled off, with ballots for 25 cents.
The student with the closest guess to the number of candy in the jar will win it.
All of the proceeds will go to the Saugeen Shores Relay for Life, which takes place July 9th.
MacPherson says ever since the school got involved in the “Me to We” initiative, they’ve been looking for global and local initiatives to support.
Blue and Yellow Mondays will continue in Saugeen Shores right up until the relay.
Organizers say they encourage residents and businesses to sport the colours on Mondays.
