Kincardine’s economic development committee is moving ahead with a goal of completing a strategic plan for the municipality.
Mayor Larry Kraemer says the committee is going to need 10 thousand dollars to pay for any developed plan but where that money is coming from is still not locked in.
Kraemer says they are looking at applying for grant money through the Federation of Canadian Municipalities.
He says the strategic plan will outline how the municipality can improve its approach to attracting businesses to the town.
Kraemer says they’ve got the ball rolling but they’re hoping to get outside money to help further fund the plan.
Kraemer says the committee have a time limit in that they have to report back to council before the next municipal election in late October.
He says one consultant already has the makings of a proposal to be presented with the general outline already being developed.
