A public meeting at Owen Sound City hall tonight to deal with changes to the Community Improvement plan.
Changes to Ontario’s Planning act and the City adopting a new Official plan in 2006 mean the Community Improvement plan, which has been in effect since 2001, has to be amended.
The changes would see an expansion of the Community Improvement Project area to include the entire city including the downtown and harbour area.
It also would see the introduction of new programs for the City including an Affordable Housing Loan Program, Environmental Studies Grant, Brownfields Financial Tax Incentive program and a Development Charges Refund program.
The changes also would see an extension of the Heritage Property tax program and Facade and Structural Improvement program.
That special meeting goes at 7 PM tonight in the Council chambers at Owen Sound City Hall.
