The fundraising committee for the Owen Sound Regional Rec Centre has received another 50 thousand dollars.
The Attack OHL club used their annual barbeque and awards banquet on the weekend to pledge 50 thousand dollars to the new facility.
That is on top of the 1.25 million dollars already donated and pledged for the nearly 39 million dollar facility that will include two ice rinks, a fitness centre and two pools.
The lobby of the new Rec Centre will also be named after Ray McKelvie.
He is a long time supporter of minor sports who has also been the OHL club’s General Manager and now takes care of the business operations for the team.
Construction of the 125 thousand square foot Rec Centre began in March.
