Not only does Habitat for Humanity Grey Bruce offer a hand up for a family needing an affordable home, they also need people to lend a hand as well.
Habitat gearing up for its latest build to take place in Owen Sound beginning the week of June 26 and the call is out for volunteers to help with the construction.
Habitat Executive Director Dennis Scott says there is a huge demand for low income housing in Grey Bruce and Owen Sound and the while the construction of one house wont eliminate that demand, it will help.
He says at this time there are about 14 hundred people currently on the list for affordable housing in Grey Bruce.
Scott says the exact location for the Owen Sound build cannot be released just yet as they are wrapping up negotiations to acquire the land.
He says the City and Habitat work together to acquire a building site, and the city also helps with getting all the permits and services needed to start construction.
Scott says Habitat needs skilled and not so skilled volunteers to help with the project which will see the construction blitz take place between August 7 th to the 21st.
Anyone who wants to volunteer can contact Habitat at 519-371- 6776 or on line at www.habitatgreybruce.com
