Students from across Bruce and Grey counties are invited to apply for a spot at the 5th annual Bruce Grey MedQUEST Health Careers Exploration Program.
MedQUEST chair Myrna Inglis says 30 students in Grades 10 and 11 will be accepted into the camp for one week, July 12th to the 16th.
The camp is being held in Walkerton.
Last year there was a camp in Owen Sound as well but because an organizing committee could not be put together in time, the Owen Sound camp will not happen.
Inglis says the idea of the program is to give students, who have expressed an interest in working in health-related fields, the opportunity to experience first hand what their potential is about.
She says there’s job shadowing along with hands-on activities which includes the delivery of a simulated infant.
Interested students must apply on line at www.medquestwestern.ca
The program starts taking applications tomorrow until April 20th.
Inglis says students should know whether or not they’re accepted by the end of the first week in May.
