They’re celebrating winter this weekend in Ripley.
The Ripley Huron Winter Carnival kicked off yesterday, and continues through Sunday at the Community Centre.
Spokesperson Mike Fair says it gets underway with a Ripley Lions Costume Skate from 7 PM to 9 PM on Friday.
Fair says there is a pancake breakfast on Saturday from 9 AM to 12:30 PM followed by minor hockey action and a skills competition.
There are also horse drawn hay rides from 10 AM to 2 PM while ice painting gets underway at 1 PM.
Fair says Saturday wraps up with a free indoor or outdoor public skate at 6 PM while Sunday culminates with a skating carnival at 1:30 PM.
Fair says the goal is to encourage families to get out together and enjoy winter in Bruce County.
