Owen Sound Council will soon checkout the proposed Master Plan for Kelso Beach Park.
Councillor Jim McManaman says the landscape architect hired by the city to develop the plan has now included comments and suggestions from the public.
The draft plan will now go back to the Recreation Committee for a final look and then to Council for input and hopefully approval.
McManaman says his top priority under the plan is to get rid of the invasive reed grass that has all but eliminated the beach.
Council has included 20 thousand dollars in the capital budget to complete the work.
The Scenic City Order of Good Cheer has also proposed a splash pad for Kelso Beach Park.
But McManaman says before that work can begin — several water and sewer upgrades have to be made.
The capital budget also includes 30 thousand dollars for that work to be done.
But both projects — as well as the Kelso Beach master plan — need the blessing of Council.
