Teachers at Georgian College have turned down what’s being called the final contract offer from Ontario’s colleges.
While overall, instructors accepted the proposed contract by a 51 per cent margin — only 46 per cent of Georgian’s teachers voted to take it.
The 51 percent margin may not hold, either.
The union representing the college teachers says the contract was accepted by a margin of only 200 votes, and there are still 300 mail-in ballots that haven’t been counted.
The Labour Relations Board will have to do a full count of the votes, which will take about a week and a half.
That is past the strike deadline set by the teachers for next Wednesday.
