The Alzheimers Walk for Memories fundraiser in Saugeen Shores took a bit of a hit because of the economic times.
Organizer Judy McKinnon says the event last weekend raised about six thousand dollars and there was a drop in participants as well.
McKinnon says they expected a drop if only because of the economic turmoil everyone has been going through.
The money raised will remain in the region to help the Alzheimer’s Society provide support and counselling services for families and caregivers.
Walks were also held in Owen Sound and Hanover.
