The RCMP is looking into whether an Owen Sound business sold counterfeit clothing.
The Mounties seized two vans full of clothes from Brand Names — the downtown store that just opened before Christmas.
The investigation started after Owen Sound Police received a complaint from a resident that the store was selling counterfeit retail products.
It’s against the Copyright Act law to sell clothing with counterfeit designer labels.
The seized items included mens shirts, pants, belts, and neckties — and they were sold at a discounted price.
The RCMP are looking into whether the items with designer labels had consent of the owner.
No charges have been laid yet as the investigation continues.
