The fourth in a series of open house sessions on a proposed Deep Geological Repository by Nuclear Waste Management Organization is today.
It’s taking place in Port Elgin at the Colonial Motel on Goderich Street.
The DGR will be a 680 metre deep vault where low and intermediate level radioactive waste from Ontario’s nuclear power plants will be stored underground.
It will be built at the Bruce Power Site near Tiverton.
Approval is not expected to come for at least another two years.
Already meetings have been held in Kincardine, Ripley and Walkerton.
Today’s open house runs from 4 PM to 8 PM.
