The OPP mean business on the water.
They’re plying the waterways looking for any type of infractions of rules for recreational boating and for fishing.
Bayshore Broadcasting News was invited this morning to tag along to see what goes on.
Bayshore Broadcasting’s Rob Brignell has been with police checking the Lake Huron shoreline between Port Elgin and Southampton.
He says police are simply trying to make the waterways safe for everyone.
They are looking for safety gear being on board and if there’s fishing going on, they’re looking for appropriate licence’s to do so.
While Brignell was on board, several boaters were approached and all were adhering to the law.
Brignell says you never know where the OPP boat will be although for today, it will be in the Port Elgin – Southampton area.
This evening — OPP will be on the boat on Georgian Bay in the Owen Sound area looking to keep the waterways safe.
