The second annual Colleen Lantz Memorial run is all set to go in Neustadt.
The run honours Colleen Lantz of Hanover who was killed in a tragic traffic collision on August 11th, 2007.
You can choose to run 5 or ten kilometres tomorrow at the Neustadt Lions Community park.
Race director Alecia Lantz says the festivities start at 7:30 AM with a fireman’s breakfast.
The one kilometre fun run for kids starts at 9 AM.
The 5 K starts at 9:45 AM and the 10 K starts at 9:50 AM.
Registration is ongoing until 15-minutes before each race.
New things that have been added this year include a 5-K stroller roll for parents with children in strollers and a 10-K team challenge.
There is also a lunch barbeque and children’s entertainment.
Lantz says all funds raised from registration go towards Keystone Child Youth and Family Services.
Funds raised from all events go towards different charities in the community.
Lantz is hoping for a turnout of 600 people this year – 450 participated in 2008.
Alecia Lantz was a friend and running partner of Colleen.
The two had spoken of organizing a race before Colleens death.
