Bring your appetite to Elmwood — the Fire Fighters are putting on their 9th annual All You Can Eat Firemen’s Breakfast.
They’ve traded in their firefighting gear for oven mitts, spatulas and flippers.
Firefighter Carl Frook says the Elmwood Fire Department has been cooking up a storm and it’s now time to put their culinary skills to the test.
This morning’s all you can eat menu includes: bacon and eggs, sausage, hash browns, toast coffee and juice.
It’s just 6 dollars for adults and 3 dollars for children under 12.
Proceeds from the event go back into the Fire Department. This year the money is earmarked for a preplanning project for the entire fire coverage area.
Frook says this morning breakfast is more than just a fundraiser it’s also a public outreach opportunity.
He calls it a great way for the public and the volunteer fire fighters to intermingle in a casual environment.
About 500 people are expected to take in the breakfast.
The Firemen’s Breakfast isn’t the only attraction in Elmwood today, Elmwood is also hosting a Community Wide Yard Sale.
So after you’ve satisfied your appetite you can hit the streets in search of bargains and treasures.
