West Grey residents will see a modest increase in their tax bill.
Council approved its 2009 budget at yesterdays meeting.
The budget will see the Municipality spend around 18.6 million dollars.
That will mean each household will pay 19 dollars more — or 1.5 percent — based on a home assessed at 167 thousand dollars.
Mayor Kevin Eccles says it took a lot of ingenuity from both Council and staff to find some efficiencies where they were able to get the most out of their resources.
He says it has been quite a process but they are starting to see everything work together.
Eccles says some of the capital projects planned for this year includes 22 kilometres of road work, some of which will be along boundaries in neighbouring municipalities.
There will also be a new fire truck for the Neustadt fire hall and a new grader.
Eccles says some forward thinking has put the Municipality in a great position where they are able to build reserves for future projects or equipment.
He says they have received funding from the province for infrastructure and have been spending it little by little each year instead of all at once.
