Good news for local municipalities.
The federal government is doubling the portion of gas tax funding to improve roads, bridges and wastewater systems.
Bruce Grey Owen Sound MP Larry Miller says the funding will stimulate the local economy and help repair infrastructure.
Miller says the first payment of the Gas Tax Fund will also be accelerated by three months.
Bruce County will receive over 2 million dollars while Grey County will receive more than 2.8 million dollars.
The City of Owen Sound will receive almost 700 thousand dollars ($696,360).
Saugeen Shores will receive more than 370 thousand dollars ($370,032) while Kincardine gets over 358 thousand dollars ($358,367)
Brockton will get $313,819 and Hanover will receive $223,195.

Collingwood will receive more than 521 thousand dollars while Wasaga Beach will receive 403 thousand.
Clearview Township will get 448 thousand dollars while Orillia will get 1.89 million dollars and Midland will receive almost 527 thousand dollars.
Goderich is getting more than 247 thousand dollars while North Huron Township will receive almost 162 thousand dollars.
Huron County will receive 1.93 million dollars.
South Huron is getting over 325 thousand dollars.
Lambton County is getting over 4 million dollars while Lambton Shores will receive more than 343 thousand.
