The 340 thousand square foot facility has been up for sale for some time and an offer was scheduled to close late last month.
Company CEO Wayne Brohman says the potential buyer has pulled the plug and the site remains up for sale.
Brohman says they are looking for offers at this point and hope to sell the factory in the near future.
Up until about a year ago, the Chesley operation had 150 workers but they were either laid off or moved to Durham, which now has 190 workers.
Just over two years ago, the award winning furniture maker had 650 employees in total at the two locations.
Brohman says at this point, business is steady at the Durham location.
